Fifth Grade
Marilyn Deinert, 5th Grade
I knew I would become a teacher in Lutheran schools when I was in the 7th grade. I was chosen to go over math homework with my classmates; as I was standing in the front of that classroom, I knew that was where I belonged. I have been teaching since 1971. I hold a BA in Elementary Education and Master’s Degree in Reading. My first teaching position was at Redeemer Lutheran School in Glendale, Queens, NYC. I’ve been teaching at St. John’s-Hemet since 1991; I’ve watched so many children grow up here! I still love teaching, or rather, I still love my students! I am so blessed and I appreciate the opportunity that God has given me to share His love with hundreds of His children. My favorite Bible verse is all of Psalm 139 because it emphasizes God's presence in my life since before I was born.
"I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. "
Psalm 139:14
