LUTHERAN WOMEN'S MISSIONARY LEAGUE
The Lutheran Women’s Missionary League (LWML) is the official women’s auxiliary of The Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod. For over 65 years, the LWML has focused on affirming each woman’s relationship with Christ, encouraging and equipping women to live out their Christian lives in active mission ministries and to support global missions. Women members of St John’s are part of the 200,000 volunteers in the United States and Canada that make up LWML.
LWML is famous for their Mite Box project, that little white and purple box is used to collect pennies, nickels and dimes to support mission projects. Based on the Biblical story of the widow’s mite, the mite box is intended for contributions above and beyond to church or Synod. Our “mitey mites” add up to millions of dollars when put with other fellow Christian men and women across the nation. |
