Schools
St. John's Lutheran School is currently educating students in grades Preschool through Sixth grade. The school facility is located on the grounds of St. John's Lutheran Church, where it has been located since it's inception. On January 9, 1983 the congregation of St. John's Lutheran Ministries made the decision to start a school as a mission outreach to the families in our Hemet community. The school board was elected by a vote of the church membership on March 21, 1983. Our kindergarten program began in September 1983.
In January 1984, the Voters Assembly of St. John's Lutheran Ministries decided to add a First and Second grade to our school program. The Early Childhood Education component was established in September 1985. In 1986, the voting membership of the church resolved to consolidate the elementary school and the preschool under one governing board. The decision was also made to incorporate the school financial records with those of the church. The Fourth, Fifth and Sixth grades were added to our elementary program in 1987.
St. John's Lutheran Schools is currently in the process of being fully accepted by the Western Association of School and Colleges and the National Lutheran School Accreditation by June of 2010.
