 Pastor Luke Kastner serves as St. John's Senior Pastor. Pastor Luke and his family {Sandy & Seth} came to Hemet from Aberdeen, Washington where they served in pastoral ministry at Calvary Lutheran Church. Luke graduated from Concordia University, Irvine in 1995 and began his seminary education at Seminario Concordia Do Brazil. He completed his Master’s of Theology at Azusa Pacific University and his Pastoral Colloquy through the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod in 2007.
Luke is passionate about sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ! He loves Biblical archeology and customs and enjoys seeing people get excited about the Bible imparting both the history and current application of God’s plan of salvation. One of Pastor Luke’s favorite Bible verses is 1 Corinthians 13:1-3, 13: “If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or clanging cymbal.  If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing.  If I give all that I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing …And now these three remain: faith, hope and love.  But the greatest of these is love.”
